Shop Setup

The following list is the information that you will need to consider and gather in preparation for setting up a shop system.

  • SHOP CATEGORIES - What are the product categories and sub-categories? These are set on the Category Add tab of the Products tab in Shop.
  • WAREHOUSE - You must add a Main warehouse to the system to track inventory. You can add a Warehouse by going to Shop > Price & Inventory > Warehouse Add
  • PRICE GROUPS -  Will there be any special pricing (i.e., member pricing)? The Price Groups are set using the Price Group Add tab on the Price & Inventory tab on the Shop Dashboard.
  • PRODUCTS - You can manually add products or use one of our upload tools to set-up your products. Please note that unless your products have a price option set, the will not appear on the site.
  • SHIPPING - What shipping options will be available (i.e., UPS, FedEx, USPS, Local pickup, flat rate)? You will need your logins for your shipping accounts.
  • TAX - What are your tax categories for products and their rates? These are added via the Tax application in the Admin Tools (wrench in upper right if a root admin).
  • PAYMENTS - What form of payment will you take? You will need your logins to your merchant account(s). Entered via the Settings tab on the Shop dashboard. Payment options include:
  • EMAILS - Before going live you will need to set the content of your shop emails (i.e., confirmation, tracking, etc.) Entered via the Settings tab on the Shop dashboard.
  • PACKING SLIP - Before going live you will need to set the content of your packing slip. Entered via the Settings tab on the Shop dashboard.
  • ATTRIBUTES - If you are going to be using filters on the user side, you will need to create the attributes to filter on such as size, color, etc. then each product will set which attributes pertain to that sku. Attributes are set via the Product Data tab on the Shop dashboard.
  • PAGES - Your store should have some additional pages of information that will need to be designed and populated with the appropriate content:
    • Home page layout
    • Contact page
    • Return and Privacy Policy pages
    • Other pages can be added depending on your needs
      • FAQ page
      • Shipping information page
      • Store Locations page - this can also use our Business Directory to make updating and adding new locations easy
  • SSL Certificate - the last item to get set-up will be your SSL Certificate, which is required to take credit cards or use Amazon Payments. Your Project Manager will work with you to get that set-up on your site.

Product Information that you will need for each product....

  • Product name
  • Product description
  • Base Sku (product/part number)
  • Additional Skus (optional)
  • Product shipping weight in ounces
  • Product tax type
  • Product image (best if square and minimum of 500x500 px).
  • Pricing groups (optional)
  • Categories
  • Inventory (optional)
