American Tire Distributors Integration FAQs: tire & wheel EDI orders, growing under new ownership

American Tire Distributors (ATD) is one of the largest independent tire distributors in the US, now operating under new ownership since a March 2025 sale completed its Chapter 11 restructuring — and actively expanding since, with new product lines, a new CFO, and new manufacturer partnerships. The InfiPlex™ Inventory & Order Management System (OMS) connects your ATD vendor relationship so purchase orders pull in automatically, the EDI documents ATD requires go out on time, and your inventory stays synced with every other retailer you supply.

Section 1 of 5 · Know this first

ATD's Ownership & Current Status

What happened to ATD, and what its current operations actually look like.

Is American Tire Distributors still operating?

Yes — and actively growing. ATD filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in October 2024 (its second such filing) due to debt pressures, then completed a sale of substantially all its assets to a new ownership group formed by its existing lenders in March 2025. The company continues operating under the same American Tire Distributors name.

What has ATD done since the ownership change?

Under new leadership (Ira Silver as CEO, effective with the sale), ATD has launched new proprietary brands including Edge Wheels and Ironman All Country MT-X tires, hired a new CFO in October 2025, formed a new manufacturer alliance with Giti Tire, and introduced an enhanced Commercial Flex loyalty program for 2026 — all signs of active reinvestment rather than a business winding down.

What is the InfiPlex American Tire Distributors integration?

The InfiPlex ATD integration connects your approved American Tire Distributors vendor relationship to the InfiPlex Inventory & Order Management System over EDI. Purchase orders pull in automatically, shipments ship from your warehouse or 3PL, and the ASN and invoice documents ATD requires post back — while your inventory stays synced with every other channel you supply.

Do I need to already be an approved ATD vendor?

Yes — ATD works through approved wholesale vendor (manufacturer partner) relationships established directly with its purchasing team, not a self-serve marketplace signup. InfiPlex connects that EDI relationship once you're approved and ATD has issued your onboarding requirements.

How large is ATD's current distribution network?

ATD operates more than 62 distribution centers serving an average of roughly 35,000 customers each month across the tire and automotive service market, according to the company's own reporting.

Section 2 of 5 · Getting connected

ATD Integration & Setup

How the InfiPlex ATD EDI connection works, and what the vendor relationship requires.

How do I connect my ATD vendor relationship to InfiPlex?

Our USA-based team configures the EDI connection with you during onboarding, mapping the specific documents (850 purchase orders, 856 ASNs, 810 invoices, and others) ATD requires, and coordinating any certification testing requested.

How long does ATD EDI setup take?

Your OMS site is provisioned within 1–2 business days, and EDI trading-partner setups generally take longer than a standard marketplace connection because retailer-side testing is involved. Our team scopes the specific timeline once we see your ATD onboarding packet.

Section 3 of 5 · Order flow

Order Management & EDI Compliance

How ATD EDI orders move into InfiPlex, and how the OMS protects your vendor standing.

How do ATD purchase orders get into InfiPlex?

InfiPlex pulls EDI 850 purchase orders from ATD approximately every 15 minutes, landing in the same queue as your other retailer and marketplace orders, ready to route to a warehouse or 3PL.

How does InfiPlex help avoid ATD vendor chargebacks?

InfiPlex automates exactly the mechanics most vendor compliance programs scrutinize — on-time document transmission, accurate ASNs matching what actually shipped, and inventory that reflects real availability — which is where manual EDI processes most often break down under volume.

Section 4 of 5 · Stock control

Inventory Sync & Availability

How InfiPlex keeps your ATD commitments accurate against every other channel.

How does inventory sync work for an ATD vendor?

InfiPlex maintains one master inventory pool, and every sale on any channel — ATD, another retailer, or your own webstore — updates available quantities everywhere in real time, which is what prevents committing stock to an ATD PO you can't actually ship.

How do I update inventory in bulk?

Use the built-in Inventory Tool for direct edits, the Inventory Upload tool for spreadsheet-based changes, scheduled FTP feeds, or automated pulls from supplier systems. One update propagates to ATD and every other connected channel.

Section 5 of 5 · Plans & costs

American Tire Distributors Integration Pricing & Plans

What connecting ATD to InfiPlex costs, and which plan fits.

How much does the InfiPlex ATD integration cost?

ATD connects on every InfiPlex plan as a standard EDI trading-partner connection. Basic Starter is $49.99/month with up to 2,000 SKUs at $0.50 per order; Growth Starter is $499.99/month with 10,000 SKUs and 1,000 orders included ($0.10 per additional order); Growth Pro is $999.99/month with 100,000 SKUs and 10,000 orders included ($0.05 per additional order). Full details are on the Pricing page.

Are there separate EDI costs to connect ATD?

EDI connections may carry retailer-required VAN costs depending on your specific setup, though InfiPlex can often significantly reduce or eliminate those costs compared to a standalone EDI provider.

Is there a long-term contract?

Growth packages carry a 3-month minimum commitment and Partner packages a 12-month term; Basic Starter is month-to-month. Schedule a demo and we'll scope the right plan against your ATD relationship and overall EDI trading-partner mix.

How it works

How the InfiPlex ATD integration works

ATD runs a standard retail EDI vendor relationship serving tens of thousands of tire and automotive service customers — purchase orders arrive for distribution center replenishment, and suppliers confirm shipments and invoice electronically within required timing windows. InfiPlex pulls ATD purchase orders into the same queue as your other retailers, generates the ASN and invoice documents on time, and keeps your inventory synced so you never commit stock you can't ship.
