FedEx Integration FAQs: your account rates, one multichannel queue
If you already have a FedEx account — with its own negotiated pricing and service history — you shouldn't have to abandon it to run a real multichannel operation. The InfiPlex™ Inventory & Order Management System (OMS) connects your existing FedEx account so orders from every sales channel flow into one queue, labels buy at your actual account rates, and tracking posts back automatically.
The InfiPlex FedEx integration connects your existing FedEx account to the InfiPlex Inventory & Order Management System. InfiPlex aggregates orders from every sales channel you run, sends orders needing labels to your FedEx account, and pushes the resulting tracking back to the originating marketplace or storefront — all while managing the real-time multichannel inventory sync FedEx's own tools don't provide.
Yes — this integration connects your own FedEx account number to InfiPlex. If you don't have a FedEx account yet, InfiPlex's built-in shipping already covers 100+ carriers directly, so FedEx isn't required to ship through InfiPlex.
Setup is quick and simple: our USA-based team links your FedEx account through FedEx's developer platform (account number, API credentials) during onboarding. There's nothing to install and no developer needed on your end.
Yes — FedEx's API distinguishes between LIST, ACCOUNT, and negotiated INCENTIVE rate types; once your account credentials are linked, InfiPlex pulls whichever rate tier applies to your account for each label.
Most sellers are live in 1–3 business days. The connection itself completes quickly; the rest of the window goes to confirming service levels, package defaults, and how FedEx fits alongside any other carriers you use.
Section 2 of 5 · How it connects
How Orders Flow Between InfiPlex & FedEx
The mechanics of what moves where, and why it's organized this way.
InfiPlex does. Orders from every connected channel — Amazon, Walmart, Shopify, and 130+ more — pull into the InfiPlex OMS about every 15 minutes, giving you one aggregated queue rather than connecting FedEx to each channel separately.
Once an order is ready to ship, InfiPlex requests a rate and label from your FedEx account through the Ship API, using your account rates and preferred service levels.
Automatically — once FedEx generates the label, the tracking number flows back through InfiPlex to whichever channel the order originally came from, without manual entry.
Yes — InfiPlex can rate-shop between FedEx and any other connected carrier per order, or you can set rules routing specific channels, weights, or destinations to FedEx specifically.
Yes — InfiPlex supports the FedEx service levels available on your account, including Ground, Express Saver, 2Day, Priority Overnight, and international options, configured during onboarding to match what your business ships.
Section 3 of 5 · Rates & labels
Account Rates, Labels & Tracking
How FedEx's rate and label mechanics work through the integration.
LIST rates are FedEx's published pricing; ACCOUNT rates reflect any standard account-level pricing; INCENTIVE rates are custom-negotiated discounts based on your shipping volume and history. InfiPlex pulls whichever rate type your account is set up to return.
Yes — rate quotes are available before purchase, so you can compare FedEx against other connected carriers for each shipment if you want to rate-shop rather than defaulting to one carrier.
No — FedEx continues to bill your account directly as it does today; InfiPlex requests rates and labels against your account but doesn't insert itself into the billing relationship.
FedEx has moved its integrations to REST APIs with OAuth 2.0 authentication, retiring the older SOAP-based Web Services; our team keeps the InfiPlex connection current with FedEx's requirements as they evolve.
No — InfiPlex includes shipping across 100+ carriers built in, so a separate FedEx account isn't required. This integration exists specifically for sellers who already have a FedEx account with negotiated rates they want to keep using.
If you've already negotiated volume discounts directly with FedEx, connecting your own account typically nets better pricing than a generic rate, since your negotiated terms reflect your specific shipping history and volume commitments.
Yes — with both connected, InfiPlex can rate-shop between your FedEx account and other carrier options per shipment, so you can see which is actually cheaper for a given package and destination.
No — connecting your own carrier account doesn't carry an additional InfiPlex fee; you pay FedEx directly for shipping and InfiPlex for the OMS plan and per-order pricing.
Yes — the 3PL Connector program supports connecting carrier accounts (including FedEx) at the 3PL or client level, depending on how billing is structured between you and your clients.
Yes — you can configure FedEx as the preferred carrier with automatic fallback to other connected carriers if a rate isn't available or a service level doesn't apply to a given shipment.
InfiPlex supports FedEx Freight service levels available on your account for larger shipments; confirm current freight capabilities and requirements directly with FedEx, since freight often involves different documentation than standard parcel shipping.

How it works
How the InfiPlex FedEx integration works
Connecting your FedEx account to InfiPlex means every order — regardless of which marketplace or storefront it came from — can buy a label at your actual contracted rate, not a generic published one. InfiPlex aggregates orders from every sales channel into one queue, sends orders needing labels to your authenticated FedEx account, and posts the resulting tracking number back to whichever channel the order came from, all while keeping inventory synced across everywhere you sell.
The InfiPlex FedEx sync rail: orders needing labels flow from the OMS to your authenticated FedEx account, FedEx returns account-specific rates and the label, and InfiPlex pushes tracking out to whichever sales channel the order came from — while inventory stays reconciled across every connected channel in one pool.
