InfiPlex Alexa Order Alerts App

Last Updated: April 08, 2024

The InfiPlex Alexa Alerts application allows you to receive Alexa notifications that you have new orders to be processed in your InfiPlex Order Management System (OMS). The system uses an Alexa account tied to a warehouse to visually and verbally alert you that you have new orders that need to be processed. This is a great tool for any marketplace that requires timely shipments, like Amazon Seller Prime and Amazon Today retail shipments.

Follow the steps below to build a connection between your Alexa Warehouse account and your InfiPlex OMS.

Amazon Alexa Order Alerts Set-up

  1. Create an Amazon Account for the Warehouse:
Order alerts are integrated with a specific warehouse set-up in InfiPlex. So you will need to create an individual Amazon.com account for each warehouse, which will enable you to set-up a single or multiple Alexa devices to receive order alerts for that specific warehouse account. Each warehouse will need it's own email account in order to create the Amazon.com account. You can create a new free email using GMail.com or Outlook.com, or via your own company domain.

    • Create Your Amazon.com Warehouse Account:
Go to Amazon.com and be sure you are logged out of any existing account. Click the Sign-in link in the top-right and select "Create your Amazon account" button at the bottom of the sign-in page. This allow you to create a new account using the warehouse email address you set-up.

  2. Install on Echo/Alexa:
It is recommended that you install Alexa on a phone and manage your Echos from the App on your phone.
    From Your Phone:
    • Say "Alexa, enable InfiPlex Alerts", or go to https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D156X7Q3/ to install from the official InfiPlex Alerts Amazon page

    • Open Alexa app on phone and give app permissions.
    • Say "Alexa open InfiPlex Alerts"
    • You should then receive an email with the InfiPlex Alert Key that can be used to send messages to your Echo/Alexa devices.
    • You can also set-up multiple Echo's as needed within your warehouse as long as they are all controlled under the same warehouse Amazon account set-up in Step 1.

    • Review the Alexa App Set-up below for a walk through on setting up the app on your phone.

  3. Setup Warehouse in InfiPlex:
    • Go to Settings > Integrations > Amazon Today and enable amazon_today_alexa_alerts_enabled
      - You can also modify, amazon_today_alexa_alerts_interval which is how often alerts will be sent. No alert will be sent if there are no open orders for a supply source

    • Add InfiPlex Alert Key to a Warehouse
The Alert Key you receive in the email when you enable InfiPlex alerts needs to be added to the Warehouse in InfiPlex that they key's account is associated to. To setup the new key, go to Inventory > Warehouses, then select your warehouse/store and paste your key into "InfiPlex Alerts Alexa API Key"
