ShipStation Integration FAQs: keep your label workflow, add real multichannel OMS
ShipStation is a widely used label and rate-shopping engine — and a great one — but it isn't built to be the multichannel order and inventory brain behind a growing operation. The InfiPlex™ Inventory & Order Management System (OMS) connects to ShipStation so you can keep the label-printing workflow your warehouse already knows, while InfiPlex aggregates orders across every sales channel, keeps inventory in sync everywhere in real time, and hands ShipStation exactly the orders that need labels. Below are the questions sellers ask us most.
The InfiPlex ShipStation integration connects your existing ShipStation account to the InfiPlex Inventory & Order Management System. InfiPlex aggregates orders from every sales channel you run, sends shipment-ready orders to ShipStation for label and rate generation, and pushes the resulting tracking back out to the originating marketplace or storefront — all while managing real-time inventory sync across channels that ShipStation itself doesn't handle.
Yes — this integration connects an existing ShipStation account to InfiPlex. If you don't use ShipStation, InfiPlex's built-in shipping already covers 100+ carriers directly, so ShipStation isn't a requirement to ship through InfiPlex.
Setup is quick and simple: after you sign up, our USA-based team provisions your OMS site within 1–2 business days and links your ShipStation account using its API credentials. There's nothing to install and no developer needed.
Most sellers are live in 1–3 business days. The connection itself completes quickly; the rest of the window goes to confirming which order types route to ShipStation versus InfiPlex's own carrier connections.
No — your team keeps using ShipStation's packing and printing workflow exactly as they know it. InfiPlex changes what happens before an order reaches ShipStation (multichannel aggregation and inventory sync) and after (tracking distributed back to the right channel), not the label-printing step itself.
Section 2 of 5 · How they connect
How Orders Flow Between InfiPlex & ShipStation
The mechanics of what moves where, and why it's organized this way.
InfiPlex does. Orders from every connected channel — Amazon, Walmart, Shopify, and 130+ more — pull into the InfiPlex OMS about every 15 minutes, giving you one aggregated queue instead of relying on ShipStation's own per-channel connections.
Once an order is ready to ship, InfiPlex sends it to ShipStation, which then handles rate comparison and label generation using your existing ShipStation carrier accounts and settings.
Automatically — once ShipStation generates a label, the tracking number flows back through InfiPlex to whichever channel the order originally came from, whether that's Amazon, Shopify, or anywhere else.
Yes — many sellers route specific channels or carriers through ShipStation while using InfiPlex's own 100+ carrier connections for the rest, based on whichever gives the best rate or workflow fit for that order type.
Our team configures the connection during onboarding specifically to avoid double-pulling — typically by having InfiPlex own the marketplace connections and feed ShipStation only what needs a label, rather than both systems independently pulling from the same channel.
Section 3 of 5 · Labels & tracking
Rates, Labels & Tracking
What ShipStation handles once an order reaches it, and how that data returns to InfiPlex.
Yes — ShipStation's own carrier accounts, discounted rates, and rate-comparison logic apply exactly as they do today. InfiPlex hands off orders for ShipStation to process; it doesn't change ShipStation's rate shopping itself.
Yes — automation rules you've already built in ShipStation (carrier selection, service level assignment, and so on) continue to apply to orders InfiPlex sends over.
Return labels and status generated in ShipStation can flow back through InfiPlex to update the order record and, where applicable, adjust inventory once a return is received.
Yes — if you use ShipStation's branded tracking pages, that experience is unaffected; InfiPlex is only concerned with getting the underlying tracking number back to the correct sales channel.
Yes — shipment and tracking status from ShipStation reflects back into the InfiPlex order record, so your team has one place to check an order's status regardless of which system actually printed the label.
Section 4 of 5 · Which to use
When to Use ShipStation vs. InfiPlex's Built-In Shipping
Both are available — here's how sellers typically decide.
No — InfiPlex includes its own shipping across 100+ carriers, including UPS, FedEx, DHL, and USPS with Commercial Plus pricing, so ShipStation isn't required. This integration exists for sellers who already have ShipStation workflows, carrier accounts, or automation rules they want to keep using.
Common reasons include existing ShipStation carrier discount agreements, a warehouse team already trained on ShipStation's packing workflow, or automation rules built up over years that aren't worth rebuilding. InfiPlex's value in that case is the multichannel order aggregation and inventory sync layered on top, which ShipStation alone doesn't provide.
Yes — sellers sometimes start with ShipStation connected and gradually shift carrier volume to InfiPlex's built-in options as they get comfortable, without disrupting order flow during the transition.
It works alongside it. InfiPlex isn't trying to replace ShipStation's label and rate functionality — it's solving the multichannel order aggregation and real-time inventory sync problem that sits upstream of shipping, which ShipStation on its own doesn't address across channels.
Yes — the 3PL Connector program lets a 3PL keep its existing ShipStation workflow while connecting each client's sales channels and inventory through InfiPlex.
Yes — orders InfiPlex sends to ShipStation are available for batch processing the same way any ShipStation order would be, so your team's existing batch label workflow isn't disrupted.
Shipment and tracking data from ShipStation syncs back into the InfiPlex order record; cost-specific reporting depends on what ShipStation returns through its API, which our team confirms during setup based on your ShipStation plan.
Section 5 of 5 · Plans & costs
ShipStation Integration Pricing & Plans
What connecting ShipStation to InfiPlex costs, and which plan fits.
ShipStation connects on every InfiPlex plan. Basic Starter is $49.99/month with up to 2,000 SKUs at $0.50 per order; Growth Starter is $499.99/month with 10,000 SKUs and 1,000 orders included ($0.10 per additional order); Growth Pro is $999.99/month with 100,000 SKUs and 10,000 orders included ($0.05 per additional order). Full details are on the Pricing page.
Yes — your existing ShipStation subscription is billed by ShipStation as usual; InfiPlex's plan and per-order pricing are separate and cover the multichannel OMS layer, not ShipStation's own shipping software cost.
No — ShipStation is a standard included integration. You pay your InfiPlex plan and per-order fees only; there's no additional InfiPlex charge for using ShipStation instead of InfiPlex's built-in carriers.
Growth packages carry a 3-month minimum commitment and Partner packages a 12-month term; Basic Starter is month-to-month. Schedule a demo and we'll walk through how InfiPlex and your existing ShipStation setup fit together.
Connect the rest of your stack
Pair ShipStation with the systems you already run
InfiPlex connects ShipStation with 130+ marketplaces, carts, shipping platforms, 3PLs, WMS, and ERP systems — and our Growth Packages include building new API integrations you need at no additional cost.
Think of ShipStation as the execution layer for labels and rates, and InfiPlex as the layer above it that actually aggregates every sales channel into one order queue and keeps inventory accurate across all of them. InfiPlex sends orders that need shipping over to ShipStation, ShipStation returns the rate, label, and tracking information, and InfiPlex pushes that tracking back out to whichever marketplace or storefront the order came from — all while your team keeps using the ShipStation workflow they already know at the packing station.
The InfiPlex ShipStation sync rail: orders that need shipping flow from the OMS into ShipStation for label and rate generation, ShipStation returns tracking and rate data, and InfiPlex pushes that tracking out to whichever sales channel the order came from — while inventory stays reconciled across every connected channel in one pool.
