Last Updated: Apr 28, 2021

This article outlines how to send international shipments in InfiPlex Inventory & Order Management System.

Shipping Internationally with Your EasyPost.com account

InfiPlex Inventory & Order Management System (OMS) allows you to create international shipping labels with your EasyPost.com account. This capability requires the shipping integration with EasyPost.com.

International Shipping Overview

Shipping items outside the US requires additional information on a SKU and shipment level in order to create the label with the required customs information.

  • 1) Add Required SKU Data:
In order to ship a product outside the US, the customs information needs to identify the Harmonized Tariff Schedule number and the country of origin for each SKU in the package. You can add the following additional SKU Data items by going to the Tools > SKU Data page and searching on the SKU you want to update.
    • Enter the SKU number and click the Get SKU Data button

    • At the bottom of the SKU Data area, use the "Add New Data" button to add the 2 required data points:

  • 2) Add Required EasyPost International Shipping Settings:
Go to Settings > Shipping > EasyPost to access the international settings for EasyPost. Add the International Settings default settings that will be used to auto-fill the customs form when requesting an international shipping label. Individual SKU requirements are listed in the SKU Data section above.
    • International Enabled: Set to Yes to enable international shipments. Be sure to set-up all of your required defaults below and the SKU Data outlined above.
    • Contents Type: The type of item you are sending. You pass one of the following: 'merchandise', 'returned_goods', 'documents', 'gift', 'sample', 'other'.
    • Contents Type Explanation: If you specify 'other' in the ‘contents_type’ attribute, you must supply a brief description in this attribute.
    • Restriction Type: Describes if your shipment requires any special treatment / quarantine when entering the country. You pass one of the following: 'none', 'other', 'quarantine', 'sanitary_phytosanitary_inspection'.
    • Restriction Type Comments: If you specify 'other' in the "Restriction Type", you must supply a brief description of what is required.
    • Customs Certify: Set this to YES. This is a boolean value (true, false) that takes the place of the signature on the physical customs form. This is how you indicate that the information you have provided is accurate.
    • Customs Signer: This is the name of the person who is certifying that the information provided on the customs form is accurate. Use a name of the person in your organization who is responsible for this.
    • Non Delivery Option: In case the shipment cannot be delivered, this option tells the carrier what you want to happen to the package. You can pass either: 'abandon', 'return'. The value defaults to 'return'. If you pass ‘abandon’, you will not receive the package back if it cannot be delivered.
    • EEL PFC: When shipping outside the US, you need to provide either an Exemption and Exclusion Legend (EEL) code or a Proof of Filing Citation (PFC). Which you need is based on the value of the goods being shipped.
