OMS Getting Started Instructions

Last Updated: Sep 23, 2020

This document outlines how to get started and set-up your InfiPlex Inventory & Order Management System (OMS).

InfiPlex OMS Getting Started Instructions

InfiPlex OMS has been designed to help you get started quickly. The basic process includes:

  1. Upload Your Product Data
  2. Set-up Your Shipping Integration
  3. Add Marketplace Access Keys & Associate SKUs to Marketplaces
  4. Ship Your New Orders!

Each step is outlined in detail below.

1) Upload Your Products

The first step is to upload your SKUs into InfiPlex.

  • Upload New Products
Go to the Tools > Product Upload tool to add new products to your OMS. The Product Upload tool is a .csv file that allows you to bulk add new products with an initial starting inventory. If you do not have any initial inventory, set inventory to 0 for the SKU.
  • Updating Inventory Levels
If you need to reset your inventory levels, you can use the tools in the Inventory area to update your inventory levels. You can quickly update individual SKUs on the Inventory page from the main menu or you can upload all of your inventory levels using the Tools > Price & Inventory Tools using a .csv file. The Managing Inventory Knowledge Base article outlines the different options available for managing SKU inventory.

Amazon Product Download
If you have an Amazon account we recommend that you start there. Add your Amazon keys and then download your Amazon SKUs. You can access the Amazon product download from the Sell On > Amazon page. The download will include your inventory levels set at Amazon as your starting inventory in your OMS. You can then use the Enable Products for Specific Marketplaces process outlined above to flag SKUs for other marketplaces.

Auto Add Unknown SKUs
You can use the Unknown SKU settings to have the system automatically add new SKUs as they come through on orders from your marketplaces. This Knowledge Base article outlines how to set-up and manage Unknown SKUs.

2) Set-up Your Shipping Integration

Go here to set-up your shipping within InfiPlex. The shipping integrations in InfiPlex uses an EasyPost account to connect to all of your shipping carriers. The account is free to set-up and only costs $0.01 per label printed. It also includes a USPS account with Commercial Plus Pricing. If you do not already have a UPS account, you can also get a UPS account through EasyPost with negotiated rates.

InfiPlex also offers shipping connections with ShipStation.com or ShipWorks to manage your shipping.

ShipStation.com Integration
ShipStation.com is one of the leading online eCommerce shipping solution. InfiPlex OMS is fully integrated with ShipStation to give you enterprise level shipping capabilities. Check out our ShipStaiton.com Integration page for more details and a link to 2 months free.

If you use ShipStation.com or ShipWorks.com, you will manage all of your shipping from within those applications. Tracking will be sent back to the OMS to send out to the marketplaces.

3) Add Marketplace Access Keys & Associate SKUs to Marketplace

Each Marketplace has a set of keys and/or login information that is required for the OMS to pull your orders from that marketplace and then pass shipping tracking numbers and inventory levels back to the marketplace. The available marketplaces are listed on the Settings > Integrations page on the main menu. Click on the name of the marketplace you want to add to the OMS and click on the set-up instructions link to read how to get the necessary access keys.

Important Note:
Many marketplaces can be set-up to manage pricing, but it is HIGHLY recommended that you do NOT turn this setting on to start. You need to fully understand how pricing works before you start changing your pricing. It is recommended that you open a support ticket to review your options for controlling price on your marketplaces.

Correctly controling inventory for a marketplace requires you to assign SKUs to the marketplaces they are sold on. You can follow the process below to flag SKUs as being sold on a specific marketplace.

  • Enable Products for Specific Marketplaces
By default, when you upload new products/SKUs, they are associated to each connected marketplace. If you do not sell all of your uploaded SKUs on each marketplace, then you should maintain a SKU list file for each marketplace that you can use to quickly update InfiPlex with the SKUs that are sold on each connected marketplace. To do this, you can follow these steps:
    • Go to the Sell On page and click the tab of the marketplace that will be show accross the top of that page.
    • On the Sell On marketplace page, you will see an orange button at the top that sets all SKUs a NOT being associated to the marketplace. Click that to clear the list.
    • Next, go to the SKU Utilities tool, which allows you to quickly upload a list of SKUs to flag as associated to a specific marketplace. Reference the For Selected Sell On row to learn how to make the SKU / Marketplace associations.

4) Ship Your New Orders!

Once you have activated a marketplace, new orders will start pulling into your OMS. When an order is pulled, inventory is tracked and inventory updates are sent to all of your activated marketplaces.

With our internal shipping you will be able to manage all of your shipping from the Order list page. You can reference our help article Shipping from the Order List page to see how it works.
