UPS Integration FAQs: your negotiated rates, one multichannel queue

If you've negotiated volume-based rates directly with UPS, you shouldn't have to give them up to run a real multichannel operation. The InfiPlex™ Inventory & Order Management System (OMS) connects your existing UPS account — negotiated rates and all — so orders from every sales channel flow into one queue, labels buy at your actual contracted rates, and tracking posts back automatically.

Section 1 of 5 · Getting connected

UPS Integration & Setup

How the InfiPlex UPS connection works, and what's needed to authenticate your account.

What is the InfiPlex UPS integration?

The InfiPlex UPS integration connects your existing UPS account to the InfiPlex Inventory & Order Management System. InfiPlex aggregates orders from every sales channel you run, sends orders needing labels to your UPS account, and pushes the resulting tracking back to the originating marketplace or storefront — all while managing the real-time multichannel inventory sync UPS's own tools don't provide.

Do I need an existing UPS account to connect?

Yes — this integration connects your own UPS account (and any negotiated rates on it) to InfiPlex. If you don't have a UPS account or negotiated rates yet, InfiPlex's built-in shipping already covers 100+ carriers directly at competitive rates, so UPS isn't required to ship through InfiPlex.

How do I connect my UPS account to InfiPlex?

Setup is quick and simple: our USA-based team links your UPS account through UPS's OAuth 2.0 API during onboarding — UPS's current authentication standard, replacing the older SOAP-based system. There's nothing to install and no developer needed on your end.

Will my negotiated rates show up once connected?

Yes, once your account is properly authenticated — negotiated rates require your UPS shipper number to be validated against UPS's payment records. If rates don't appear as negotiated after connecting, it usually means the account needs re-authentication with UPS directly, which our team can help troubleshoot.

How long does UPS setup take with InfiPlex?

Most sellers are live in 1–3 business days. The connection itself completes quickly; the rest of the window goes to confirming service levels, package defaults, and how UPS fits alongside any other carriers you use.

Section 3 of 5 · Rates & labels

Negotiated Rates, Labels & Tracking

How UPS's rate and label mechanics work through the integration.

What are UPS negotiated rates, and how do I get them?

Negotiated rates are custom pricing UPS offers based on your shipping volume, secured by working with a UPS account representative and presenting your shipment data. Once negotiated, InfiPlex pulls those rates automatically for every label purchased through your connected account.

Section 4 of 5 · UPS vs. built-in shipping

When to Connect UPS vs. Using InfiPlex's Built-In Carriers

Both are available — here's how sellers typically decide.

Do I need to connect my own UPS account if I use InfiPlex?

No — InfiPlex includes shipping across 100+ carriers built in, so a separate UPS account isn't required. This integration exists specifically for sellers who already have a UPS account with negotiated rates they want to keep using.

Section 5 of 5 · Plans & costs

UPS Integration Pricing & Plans

What connecting UPS to InfiPlex costs, and which plan fits.

How it works

How the InfiPlex UPS integration works

Connecting your UPS account to InfiPlex means every order — regardless of which marketplace or storefront it came from — can buy a label at your actual negotiated rate, not a generic published one. InfiPlex aggregates orders from every sales channel into one queue, sends orders needing labels to your authenticated UPS account, and posts the resulting tracking number back to whichever channel the order came from, all while keeping inventory synced across everywhere you sell.

Flow diagram: UPS sends new orders to the InfiPlex Order Management System about every 15 minutes.
