True Value's Ownership & Current Status

What happened to True Value, and what its current operations actually look like.

Is True Value still operating?

Yes — and growing strongly. True Value filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in October 2024 due to debt pressures, and was acquired by longtime competitor Do it Best for $153 million in a sale completed that November, adding roughly 4,000 True Value stores to the combined company. As of the most recent reporting, True Value sales were up 31% year-over-year (December 2024 vs. December 2025), and the two companies just announced a shared world headquarters in Fort Wayne, Indiana in July 2026.

Did the bankruptcy and acquisition disrupt True Value's vendor relationships?

Do it Best has described the integration as "ahead of schedule," with an explicit priority on maintaining day-to-day service levels and continuity for members and retailers throughout the transition — the combined company held its first joint vendor market in 2025 and a second in 2026, with more than 1,200 vendors expected at the 2026 Fall Market.

What is the InfiPlex True Value integration?

The InfiPlex True Value integration connects your approved True Value vendor relationship to the InfiPlex Inventory & Order Management System over EDI. Purchase orders pull in automatically, shipments ship from your warehouse or 3PL, and the ASN and invoice documents True Value requires post back — while your inventory stays synced with every other channel you supply.

Is True Value the same company as Do it Best?

True Value operates as part of Do it Best following the 2024 acquisition, with the two brands actively integrating operations while maintaining distinct retail identities; both continue to run co-op vendor markets and buying programs.

Do I need to already be an approved True Value vendor?

Yes — True Value works through approved wholesale vendor relationships established directly with its purchasing team, not a self-serve marketplace signup. InfiPlex connects that EDI relationship once you're approved and True Value has issued your onboarding requirements.

Section 2 of 5 · Getting connected

True Value Integration & Setup

How the InfiPlex True Value EDI connection works, and what the vendor relationship requires.

How long does True Value EDI setup take?

Your OMS site is provisioned within 1–2 business days, and EDI trading-partner setups generally take longer than a standard marketplace connection because retailer-side testing is involved. Our team scopes the specific timeline once we see your True Value onboarding packet.

Section 3 of 5 · Order flow

Order Management & EDI Compliance

How True Value EDI orders move into InfiPlex, and how the OMS protects your vendor standing.

How does InfiPlex help avoid True Value vendor chargebacks?

InfiPlex automates exactly the mechanics most vendor compliance programs scrutinize — on-time document transmission, accurate ASNs matching what actually shipped, and inventory that reflects real availability — which is where manual EDI processes most often break down under volume.

Section 4 of 5 · Stock control

Inventory Sync & Availability

How InfiPlex keeps your True Value commitments accurate against every other channel.

How does inventory sync work for a True Value vendor?

InfiPlex maintains one master inventory pool, and every sale on any channel — True Value, another retailer, or your own webstore — updates available quantities everywhere in real time, which is what prevents committing stock to a True Value PO you can't actually ship.

How do I update inventory in bulk?

Use the built-in Inventory Tool for direct edits, the Inventory Upload tool for spreadsheet-based changes, scheduled FTP feeds, or automated pulls from supplier systems. One update propagates to True Value and every other connected channel.

How it works

How the InfiPlex True Value integration works

True Value runs a standard retail EDI vendor relationship serving thousands of independent hardware stores, lumberyards, and home centers — purchase orders arrive for distribution center replenishment, and suppliers confirm shipments and invoice electronically within required timing windows. InfiPlex pulls True Value purchase orders into the same queue as your other retailers, generates the ASN and invoice documents on time, and keeps your inventory synced so you never commit stock you can't ship.
