Pages are created from the purple Page application on the InfiPlex dashboard, under its Page Add tab. Four tabs cover a new page: Settings, PC Content, Navigation, and Meta Tags.
Settings Tab
- Name: the page's name.
- Friendly URL (optional): an alternate path for the page besides its file path.
- Description (optional): admin-only notes; never shown to visitors.
- Default Section Page: usually No.
- Folder: the page's path; rarely changed.
- Path (required): the page's filename, usually matching or close to Name.
- Security Groups (required): who can view the page on the public side. Leave everything unchecked and only logged-in admins can see it.
- Publish Date Start / End: restricts the page to a date window.
- Is Searchable: whether the page appears in the site's own search results.
PC Content Tab
- PC Content: the page's content.
- Load New Layout: offers column layouts (one column, two column, and so on); selecting one fills the content box with placeholder text to replace with your own.
- Template: click select a template, choose the template (usually the first option), set its options, and click done.
Navigation Tab
Controls whether and where the page appears in the site menu. The options shown depend on the template chosen in PC Content; if there is no Main menu option here, the wrong template choice was likely made above.
Meta Tags / Title
SEO fields shown in search engine results. All are optional, but a page title and meta description are worth setting on every page: the title is a short descriptive name, the description a sentence or two summarizing the page.
