Newegg Vendor Integration FAQs: API-based drop-ship, distinct from the Marketplace

Newegg Vendor is Newegg's drop-ship vendor relationship, connected over API rather than EDI — Newegg takes the shopper's order and sends it to you, and you ship directly to that customer; Newegg never takes physical possession of the product. That's a different business model from the Newegg Marketplace, where approved third-party sellers list and fulfill their own orders under their own account. The InfiPlex™ Inventory & Order Management System (OMS) connects your Newegg Vendor relationship so orders pull in automatically, acknowledgment and tracking go out on time, and your inventory stays synced with every other retailer you supply.

Section 1 of 5 · Getting connected

Newegg Vendor Integration & Setup

How the InfiPlex Newegg Vendor API connection works, and what the drop-ship relationship requires.

What is the InfiPlex Newegg Vendor integration?

The InfiPlex Newegg Vendor integration connects your approved Newegg drop-ship vendor relationship to the InfiPlex Inventory & Order Management System over API. Orders pull in automatically — each one representing a single shopper's order — and ship directly to that customer from your warehouse or 3PL, while the acknowledgment, tracking, and invoice data Newegg requires post back automatically.

What's the difference between Newegg Vendor and the Newegg Marketplace?

As a Newegg Vendor, Newegg routes individual shopper orders to you as a drop-ship partner — you ship directly to that customer, and Newegg never holds the inventory. The Newegg Marketplace is a separate, self-serve 3P seller program where you list and fulfill your own orders directly under your own seller account on Newegg.com. This hub covers the drop-ship vendor relationship; see the Newegg Marketplace FAQ hub for the seller program.

Does Newegg Vendor use EDI or API?

API. Unlike many traditional retail vendor relationships that run over EDI, Newegg Vendor connects using API credentials — no VAN network, no EDI certification testing, and generally a faster setup because retailer-side EDI compliance testing isn't part of the process.

How long does Newegg Vendor setup take?

Your OMS site is provisioned within 1–2 business days. Because the connection is API-based rather than EDI, setup is often quicker than a traditional EDI trading-partner relationship — there's no VAN provisioning or document certification cycle to wait on.

Section 2 of 5 · Order flow

Order Management & API Sync

How Newegg Vendor drop-ship orders move into InfiPlex, out to the shopper, and how the OMS protects your vendor standing.

How do Newegg Vendor orders get into InfiPlex?

InfiPlex pulls new orders from Newegg's vendor API approximately every 15 minutes. Each order represents one shopper's order with their own ship-to address — not a bulk restock order — and lands in the same queue as your other retailer and marketplace orders, ready to route to a warehouse or 3PL.

Who provides the shipping label, and does InfiPlex handle tracking and invoicing too?

Newegg generates the shipping label for each order; InfiPlex retrieves it and makes it available to print at your warehouse or 3PL, so there's no separate carrier account or rate shopping needed for these orders. Once the order ships, InfiPlex also sends tracking and invoice data back to Newegg automatically, keeping your vendor account compliant without manual work.

Can Newegg Vendor orders route to my 3PL?

Yes — the OMS routes Newegg Vendor orders to a connected 3PL or WMS via the 3PL Connector. The 3PL prints the label Newegg generates and ships accordingly — it doesn't need its own carrier account set up for these orders — with confirmation sent back via API automatically once it ships.

How does InfiPlex help avoid Newegg Vendor chargebacks?

InfiPlex automates exactly the mechanics drop-ship compliance programs scrutinize most — fast acknowledgment, on-time shipment to the correct shopper address, accurate tracking data matching what actually shipped, and inventory that reflects real availability — which is where manual processes most often break down under volume.

Inventory Sync & Availability

How InfiPlex keeps your Newegg Vendor commitments accurate against every other channel.

How does inventory sync work for a Newegg Vendor?

InfiPlex maintains one master inventory pool, and every sale on any channel — Newegg Vendor, another retailer, or your own webstore — updates available quantities everywhere in real time, which is what prevents accepting a Newegg drop-ship order you can't actually fulfill.

How do I update inventory in bulk?

Use the built-in Inventory Tool for direct edits, the Inventory Upload tool for spreadsheet-based changes, scheduled FTP feeds, or automated pulls from supplier systems. One update propagates to Newegg and every other connected channel.

Section 4 of 5 · Two Newegg relationships

Newegg Vendor vs. Newegg Marketplace, Explained

Newegg offers two very different seller relationships — make sure this hub is the one you need.

How do I know which Newegg relationship I have?

If Newegg sends individual shopper orders to you and you ship directly to that customer — without Newegg ever taking physical possession of the product — you're a Newegg Vendor drop-ship partner. If you list and fulfill your own orders directly under your own seller account on Newegg.com, you're a Marketplace seller. Some suppliers run both.

Is Newegg Vendor drop-ship, or does Newegg hold my inventory?

It's drop-ship. Newegg lists the product and takes the shopper's order, but the order routes straight to you and you ship directly to that shopper. Newegg does not buy your product into a distribution center or hold it as their own inventory under this relationship.

Do other retailers' vendor programs use EDI even though Newegg Vendor doesn't?

Often, yes — plenty of other big-box retail vendor relationships genuinely do run over EDI with 850/856/810-style documents and VAN costs. Newegg Vendor is the exception among some of InfiPlex's other retail EDI connections, not the rule, which is exactly why it's worth confirming rather than assuming for any given retailer.

Section 5 of 5 · Plans & costs

Newegg Vendor Integration Pricing & Plans

What connecting Newegg Vendor to InfiPlex costs, and which plan fits.

How much does the InfiPlex Newegg Vendor integration cost?

Newegg Vendor connects on every InfiPlex plan as a standard API-based vendor connection. Basic Starter is $49.99/month with up to 2,000 SKUs at $0.50 per order; Growth Starter is $499.99/month with 10,000 SKUs and 1,000 orders included ($0.10 per additional order); Growth Pro is $999.99/month with 100,000 SKUs and 10,000 orders included ($0.05 per additional order). Full details are on the Pricing page.

Are there separate costs to connect Newegg Vendor?

Because Newegg Vendor connects via API rather than EDI, there's no VAN network fee to worry about. Newegg may have its own vendor program terms; confirm current details directly with Newegg since program terms can change.

Which InfiPlex plan fits a Newegg Vendor also running EDI retailers?

Vendors managing Newegg Vendor's API connection alongside genuinely EDI-based retail trading partners often fit well on Growth Starter or Growth Pro, both of which include ERP connections like NetSuite on Growth Pro for reconciling everything against your books regardless of connection type.

Is there a long-term contract?

Growth packages carry a 3-month minimum commitment and Partner packages a 12-month term; Basic Starter is month-to-month. Schedule a demo and we'll scope the right plan against your Newegg Vendor relationship and overall channel mix.

How it works

How the InfiPlex Newegg Vendor integration works

Newegg Vendor is a drop-ship relationship connected over API: a shopper orders on Newegg.com, Newegg sends that individual order to you, and you ship directly to the shopper — Newegg never takes physical possession of the product. Newegg also generates the shipping label for the order; InfiPlex retrieves it and makes it available to print at your warehouse or 3PL, so there's no separate carrier account or rate shopping to manage for these orders. InfiPlex pulls orders into the same queue as your other retailers, confirms and ships them on time, and keeps your inventory synced so you never accept an order you can't actually fulfill.
