Walmart Canada, Mexico & Chile: Add a Market vs Walmart Exports, and how they differ
Walmart offers a US Marketplace seller two genuinely different ways to reach international buyers, and sellers regularly confuse them. Add a Market opens a real, separate storefront on Walmart Canada, Walmart Mexico, or Walmart Chile, with its own listings, pricing, and compliance. Walmart Exports, launched in 2026, is a WFS-only cross-border shipping feature that ships eligible US listings to Canadian and Mexican buyers with no new storefront and no separate inventory at all. This page lays out both, plus what changes market by market.

The one question
Are you opening a new store, or just shipping farther?
Add a Market is a real expansion: a US seller in good standing selects the country flag in Seller Center (only a US-account admin can do this), agrees to that market's terms, and gains access to a separate Seller Center presence for Walmart Canada, Walmart Mexico, or Walmart Chile, where listings, pricing, and compliance are managed per market. Walmart Exports is not an expansion in that sense at all: it is a cross-border shipping feature for existing US listings fulfilled by WFS, enrolling eligible items automatically so Canadian and Mexican shoppers can buy directly from Walmart.com with no new account, no new listings, and no inventory moved anywhere.

Add a Market
Opening a real storefront in Canada, Mexico, or Chile
To add a market, an admin on the existing US Marketplace account selects the flag icon in Seller Center, chooses the country, and completes that market's agreement; the account cannot be under suspension at the time. Once approved, the seller gets access to that market's Seller Center to list products, set local pricing, and configure fulfillment, with WFS available in both Walmart Canada and Walmart Mexico Marketplaces through a trusted local carrier for inbound. Walmart Canada is the most mature of the three and the one InfiPlex has a dedicated integration and landing page for; Walmart Mexico and Walmart Chile follow the same account-level mechanism but with less third-party documentation available, so expect more direct coordination with Walmart's onboarding team for either.
The Walmart Canada integration page covers that market's connection in full; the mechanics of adding Mexico or Chile follow the same Seller Center flow.
Walmart Exports
Cross-border shipping with zero new listings
Walmart Exports launched in 2026 as WFS's answer to Amazon's FBA Export program: eligible items already fulfilled through WFS become available to shoppers in Canada and Mexico directly on Walmart.com, with international delivery handled by Walmart. Enrollment is opt-out, meaning new eligible WFS items are added automatically, and a seller's main action is reviewing item eligibility and opting out specific SKUs if needed. Common exclusions include food, supplements, cosmetics, baby products, toys, medical devices, hazardous materials, oversized items, and anything priced above $2,500; only items stored in certain WFS fulfillment centers qualify. In parallel, Walmart has also opened Walmart.com's browsing experience to international shoppers starting with Mexico, letting buyers there browse the broader US catalog with cross-border shipping and transparent duty and tax display at checkout, the consumer-facing side of the same expansion.
A note on Walmart Chile
The least documented of the three
Walmart's own Seller Center documentation confirms a Walmart Chile Marketplace exists alongside Canada and Mexico as an Add a Market destination. Public documentation and third-party integration coverage for Chile lag well behind Canada and Mexico, so if Chile is a real target, expect to coordinate closely with Walmart's onboarding team rather than relying on published guides, and confirm current requirements directly in Seller Center before committing operational resources.
One inventory pool, wherever it ships
How InfiPlex handles both paths
For sellers who Add a Market, InfiPlex connects each country's Marketplace account, currently with a dedicated integration for Walmart Canada, alongside the US account, keeping orders and inventory synced from the same pool your other channels draw from. For sellers enrolled in Walmart Exports, no separate connection is needed since the orders arrive as part of the normal US WFS order flow; InfiPlex simply needs accurate item eligibility data to help flag what is enrolled. Frequently asked
Questions, answered
The questions sellers ask when Walmart mentions Canada, Mexico, or Chile.
Add a Market opens a real, separate storefront in Canada, Mexico, or Chile with its own listings and pricing. Walmart Exports ships existing US WFS-fulfilled listings across the border to Canadian and Mexican buyers with no new storefront or listings at all.
No. You add Canada as a market from your existing US Marketplace account by selecting the country flag in Seller Center; only an admin on the US account can complete this, and the account cannot be under suspension at the time.
Opt-out. If you use WFS, eligible items are enrolled automatically, and new eligible items are added over time. Sellers review eligibility and opt out specific items rather than opting in from scratch.
Common exclusions include food, supplements, cosmetics, baby products, toys, medical devices, hazardous materials, oversized items, and anything priced above $2,500, along with items not stored in eligible WFS fulfillment centers.
Yes. Walmart's own Seller Center documentation lists a Walmart Chile Marketplace as an Add a Market destination alongside Canada and Mexico, though public documentation for it is thinner than for Canada or Mexico.
Yes, if you use Add a Market: pricing is set per market in local terms. Walmart Exports uses your existing US listing price, with duties and taxes shown separately to the international buyer at checkout.
InfiPlex has a dedicated integration for Walmart Canada today. Mexico and Chile follow the same Add a Market mechanism from the US account; contact us to discuss connecting either as you expand.
