Why InfiPlex › vs. Orderful
InfiPlex vs. Orderful

Looking for an Orderful alternative?

Orderful is an EDI platform: a webform priced per trading partner, or an API your developers build to. Either way, when the retailer's purchase order arrives, everything after it is still yours: getting the order to the warehouse, generating the ship notice and invoice, keeping inventory honest, and feeding your ERP. InfiPlex is an order management system with EDI built in. AutoZone, Target, Costco, and Walmart DSV purchase orders land in the same queue as your Amazon and Shopify orders, ship from your warehouse or 3PL, send their acknowledgments, ASNs, and invoices back automatically, and update inventory on every channel you sell through. Your team can work those orders in the OMS, pull them as JSON through the REST API, or ask about them through the MCP server: API to EDI, and MCP to EDI, on the same connection. OMS pricing is published from $49.99/month, EDI trading partners from $50/month each with set-up included, and InfiPlex has taken zero outside capital, so there is no investor to pay back through your tier.

Three questions worth asking Orderful directly

Ordinary due diligence. Any vendor should answer these plainly before a contract is signed.

What happens to the order after the 850 arrives?

Who gets it to your warehouse or 3PL, and who generates the 856 and 810 when it ships? On Web EDI that is you, in a browser. On Integrated it is your developers, building to the API.

What is the all-in number at your partner count?

Four retailers on Web EDI is $756 a month before an order touches your systems. Ask for the total at your actual trading-partner count, in writing, including what a fifth partner adds.

Which tier includes a person who knows your retailer's spec?

Managed testing, managed integration, and rule-writing support are listed on Enterprise. Ask what a Web EDI or Integrated customer gets when a retailer rejects a document, and how fast.

What actually changes

Six concrete differences, not marketing language

01

An order management system with EDI inside, not an EDI pipe you build around

With Orderful

The EDI document gets translated and delivered; the order, the warehouse, the inventory, and the ERP are separate systems you connect

With InfiPlex

A retailer purchase order becomes an InfiPlex order the moment it arrives, in the same queue as every marketplace and cart order, with the same routing rules, the same inventory, and the same push to NetSuite or QuickBooks Online. The EDI integration is one connection type among 130+, not a product you run alongside your OMS.

02

API to EDI, and MCP to EDI

With Orderful

Integrated is an API for EDI from $399/month; your developers build to it. No AI agent access at any tier

With InfiPlex

Every EDI retailer is already available three ways on the same connection. In the OMS with no code. As JSON through the REST API with Bearer-token auth, which is InfiPlex Bridge EDI to API. And through the native MCP server, so Claude, Cursor, or any MCP client can list the AutoZone POs with no 856 sent yet, explain why one routed to a 3PL, or record tracking and send the ship notice. Orderful sells the API as a tier; InfiPlex includes the API and adds the agent. Five real sessions are on MCP to EDI.

03

Set-up handled by InfiPlex, not an API you integrate yourself

With Orderful

Integrated is described as an API for EDI to build integration with any system; managed integration and testing are Enterprise-tier services

With InfiPlex

InfiPlex works with you to connect each trading partner: the mapping, the testing, and the document set the retailer requires are done for you, on every plan. AutoZone is a current example: all three 850 purchase order types, DSD, VDP, and STH, are supported, and the full document lifecycle runs inside the OMS. A retailer not yet in the integration directory is connected the same way.

04

Inventory is the foundation, not something you feed from elsewhere

With Orderful

An 846 inventory advice can be sent through it; the quantities come from whatever system you keep them in

With InfiPlex

Inventory is tracked per warehouse and per 3PL and synced to every EDI retailer and marketplace as orders arrive and ship, with per-channel inventory buffers and set-to-zero thresholds sized for vendor commitments. Zero oversells across a retailer PO program and a marketplace at the same time. Full mechanics in the multichannel inventory sync guide.

05

The label is bought, the pick list is ready, the 856 is sent

With Orderful

Labels are a separate $99/month product that generates a compliant barcode; buying the carrier label, picking, and creating the ship notice happen in your other systems

With InfiPlex

A retailer PO is routed by rule to the nearest warehouse, the 3PL that holds the SKU, or a split across locations, through multi-warehouse order routing and the 3PL Connector. Carrier labels are bought and printed inside the OMS, and the whole chain can run with no one touching it: the label is purchased automatically, the order is waiting in the pick list, and the 856 goes out the instant it ships, inside the retailer's window. That is how vendor compliance and chargebacks stop being a daily task.

06

Support from the team that configured your connection, and no investor between you

With Orderful

Email support on Web EDI and Integrated; dedicated Slack and rule-writing support listed on Enterprise. Sellers who have moved to InfiPlex describe reaching a team that did not know their retailer's requirements

With InfiPlex

100% US-based support from the people who set up your trading partner and wrote the code that processes it. When a retailer rejects a document, the person answering already knows that retailer's spec because they mapped it. InfiPlex has taken zero outside capital, so support, testing, and rule configuration are not held back for a top tier to fund a return.

What sets InfiPlex apart

What a retailer purchase order actually does inside InfiPlex

Orderful customers already have EDI retailers. Here is what happens to one of those purchase orders once it is an InfiPlex order rather than a document:

1

It is pulled in and routed, not downloaded

The 850 is pulled into the OMS on a schedule (AutoZone purchase orders arrive about every 15 minutes), acknowledged, and routed by rule to a warehouse, a 3PL, or a split across both. Nobody opens a webform.

2

Shipping it creates the documents

Ship from the OMS, your shipping software, your 3PL, or your ERP. On full automation the carrier label is bought before anyone picks, the order waits in the pick list, and the 856 and 810 are built from the shipment and sent in the retailer's window, with tracking posted back to the retailer. The EDI to API guide shows each document as JSON.

3

The stock it consumed is gone everywhere

The quantity committed to the retailer is removed from the warehouse it ships from, and every other EDI retailer and marketplace selling that SKU is updated, through the same per-channel buffers and set-to-zero rules.

The same flow runs for AutoZone, Target, Costco, Walmart DSV, Home Depot, Lowe's, and any other trading partner. Teams that would rather work the orders in JSON use InfiPlex Bridge EDI to API on the same connections.

AI agents

Connect your AI agents to InfiPlex

Orderful moves EDI documents. InfiPlex moves them, ships the orders behind them, and lets your team ask what happened to any one of them. Every InfiPlex instance runs a native MCP server, so Claude, ChatGPT through Codex, Cursor, or any MCP client can search orders, explain why an order routed to a warehouse, check inventory across warehouses, read the shop log, record tracking, and set prices in plain English, with a preview before anything channel-visible changes. It is included with API access, and connecting takes about five minutes. Not sure what that means for security? The plain-English answer, or watch a demo.

FAQ

Questions Orderful customers ask before switching

What is Orderful, and how is it different from InfiPlex?

Orderful is an EDI platform. Its Web EDI product is a per-trading-partner webform for sending and receiving documents, and its Integrated product is an API for EDI that your developers build into your own systems. InfiPlex is an order management system: EDI retailers, marketplaces, carts, 3PLs, and your ERP connect to one hub, and the orders are routed, shipped, invoiced, and reconciled inside it.

Is InfiPlex cheaper than Orderful?

Orderful charges $189 per month per trading partner for Web EDI and from $399 per month for Integrated, and neither includes order management. InfiPlex publishes OMS pricing from $49.99 per month and EDI trading partners from $50 per month each, including 1,000 kilo-characters of document traffic and set-up by InfiPlex, with the OMS doing the work that Web EDI leaves to you.

We are on Orderful Web EDI and keying every order by hand. What changes?

The keying stops. Purchase orders pull into InfiPlex automatically, route to your warehouse or 3PL, and the acknowledgment, ship notice, and invoice are generated from the shipment rather than typed into a form. The same purchase order also updates inventory on every other channel.

Our developers were going to build to Orderful's API. Do we still need to build anything?

No. InfiPlex connects and tests each trading partner for you and delivers the orders already in the OMS, in your ERP, or as JSON through the InfiPlex REST API if your team prefers to build once against InfiPlex and reach every retailer through it.

Can InfiPlex handle a retailer with several purchase order types, like AutoZone?

Yes. InfiPlex supports all three AutoZone 850 purchase order types, DSD, VDP, and STH, and the full acknowledgment, ASN, and invoice lifecycle for each. The AutoZone integration page and its guides cover the order flow and compliance rules in detail.

Does InfiPlex print shipping labels, or is that another product?

Carrier labels are bought and printed inside the InfiPlex OMS. It can run fully automated: the label is purchased the moment the PO is routed, the order sits in the pick list ready to go, and the 856 is sent instantly when it ships. There is no separate labels product to buy.

What does API to EDI and MCP to EDI mean?

The same EDI retailer connection is available three ways. In the OMS with no code. As JSON through the InfiPlex REST API, which is Bridge EDI to API. And through the native MCP server, so an AI agent can read the retailer's orders, inventory, routing, and shop log and act on them. Orderful's API is its $399 tier; InfiPlex includes the API and adds the agent. See MCP to EDI for five real retailer sessions.

Why does Orderful cost what it costs?

Orderful has raised $85 million, per its own press releases, to build an EDI translation layer and a partner network. That is what the per-partner and per-tier pricing pays for, and the hands-on work, managed testing, managed integration, and rule writing, sits on the Enterprise tier. InfiPlex has taken zero outside capital, is run by the same team that built it, and includes that work on every plan.

Does InfiPlex manage inventory, or only pass it through?

It is where your inventory lives: tracked per warehouse and per 3PL, with per-channel buffers and set-to-zero thresholds, synced to every EDI retailer and marketplace as orders arrive and ship. Zero oversells.

How long does it take to connect a retailer in InfiPlex?

Most existing connections are live within days. InfiPlex does the trading-partner mapping and testing with you, and a retailer not yet in the directory is connected the same way rather than scoped as a development project for your team.

Can we keep our existing VAN?

Yes. InfiPlex connects direct to the trading partner or through your existing VAN. Direct connections usually reduce or eliminate VAN costs; the EDI integration page publishes the per-partner packages and the kilo-character rates.

Does InfiPlex work with our ERP?

InfiPlex connects to NetSuite, QuickBooks Online, Dynamics 365, or runs with no ERP at all. Retail purchase orders push to the ERP with custom field mapping and order rules configured per connection through Order Automation.

Is Orderful still the right choice for some businesses?

A company with its own developers, its own OMS and WMS, and a need for only the EDI translation layer may want exactly that layer. A seller who wants the purchase orders handled, shipped, invoiced, and reconciled alongside every other channel without building the rest is who InfiPlex is for.
