Shopify Integration FAQs: run every channel from one system
The InfiPlex™ Inventory & Order Management System (OMS) connects to your Shopify store through a private Shopify Custom App, so orders, tracking numbers, inventory, and product data stay in sync between Shopify, your marketplaces, and your warehouses automatically — in whichever direction fits how you run the business. Below are the questions growing Shopify brands ask us most — about setup, system-of-record choice, order routing, Locations and multi-warehouse precision, product and variant sync, 3PL and ERP connections, and expanding to Amazon, Walmart, TikTok Shop, and wholesale without adding headcount.
The InfiPlex Shopify integration is a direct API connection between your Shopify store and the InfiPlex Inventory & Order Management System. It automatically moves orders, tracking numbers, and SKU inventory levels between Shopify, your other sales channels, and your fulfillment systems — so you can run Amazon, Walmart, eBay, TikTok Shop, wholesale, and your webstore from one place instead of five. The connection is made through a Shopify Custom App created in your own Shopify admin, which keeps you in full control of the credentials.
After you sign up for an InfiPlex package, our support team builds your OMS site, then walks you through creating a private Custom App from your Shopify admin (Settings → Apps and sales channels → Develop apps) and pasting the generated API credentials into InfiPlex. You'll need admin-level access to the store to create the app. From there, InfiPlex begins pulling orders and syncing inventory — no theme edits, no code, and nothing installed from the public app store.
Most Shopify sellers are live in 1–3 business days. InfiPlex provisions your OMS site within 1–2 business days of sign-up, and connecting the Shopify Custom App itself takes minutes. Our team then helps configure SKU mapping, Shopify Locations, shipping preferences, and any additional marketplaces as part of onboarding, which is included with every package.
No. InfiPlex is a no-code solution — creating the Shopify Custom App is a point-and-click process in your Shopify admin, and the InfiPlex support team guides you through every step. There is no software to install on your servers, no hardware, and no IT resources required.
Yes. InfiPlex packages include unlimited connections to available marketplace and store integrations, so brands running multiple Shopify storefronts (for example, a US store and an international store, or separate brand sites) can connect each one. Inventory can be shared from the same warehouse pool or segmented per store, and some separated configurations use their own Site Area within your OMS (a small monthly add-on listed on our pricing page).
Section 2 of 8 · Choosing your model
Two-Way Sync & System of Record
Shopify can run the show, or InfiPlex can — here's how to choose, and what changes either way.
InfiPlex supports both models, and it's one of the first things we help you decide. Option 1 — Shopify as system of record: InfiPlex pushes every marketplace order (Amazon, Walmart, eBay, Wayfair, and more) into your Shopify store, you fulfill from the Shopify admin and tools you already use, and InfiPlex sends the resulting tracking and inventory back out to each marketplace. Option 2 — InfiPlex as system of record: Shopify becomes one of many channels feeding the OMS, which centrally manages orders, inventory, warehouses, 3PLs, and your ERP. Growing brands often start with Option 1 and move to Option 2 as channel count and warehouse complexity increase.
Yes — system-of-record mode is configured per store, not account-wide. A brand running a US store and a wholesale-only store, for example, can keep the US store as the system of record while InfiPlex centrally manages the wholesale store alongside other channels.
The direction orders and inventory move. Under Option 1, InfiPlex treats Shopify as the authoritative order and fulfillment record and relays results outward; under Option 2, InfiPlex treats Shopify the same as any other connected channel, pulling its orders in and pushing inventory and tracking back out. The underlying sync engine is the same either way — only which side is authoritative changes.
Yes — this is the most common path as brands grow. Our team reconfigures the sync direction for your Shopify store without requiring you to rebuild channel connections, SKU mapping, or historical data from scratch.
Under either option, InfiPlex maintains the master real-time inventory pool and Shopify Locations stay mapped to your warehouses — what differs is whether order fulfillment activity originates in Shopify (Option 1) or in the OMS (Option 2). Inventory accuracy and overselling protection work the same way regardless.
Option 1 (Shopify as system of record) is the more common starting point, since it lets a team keep using the Shopify admin and tools they already know while adding marketplace reach. Option 2 tends to make more sense once warehouse count, 3PL relationships, or channel count grow complex enough that centralizing in the OMS saves more time than it costs to change habits.
New Shopify orders are pulled into InfiPlex approximately every 15 minutes, and the cadence can be tightened for high-velocity sellers. Each new order immediately decrements available inventory for its SKUs and queues real-time updates to every other connected channel, which is how InfiPlex prevents overselling during traffic spikes like flash sales and Q4 promotions.
Yes — this is one of the most popular configurations. InfiPlex pulls orders from every connected marketplace and pushes them into your Shopify store, so your team manages a single order queue in the Shopify admin. When you fulfill those orders in Shopify, InfiPlex pulls the tracking numbers back out and posts them to the correct marketplace automatically, keeping your on-time shipping metrics healthy on Amazon, Walmart, and the rest.
Yes. The OMS includes built-in shipping with support for 100+ carriers worldwide — UPS, FedEx, DHL, and USPS among them, with USPS Commercial Plus pricing available through the integrated EasyPost connection. You can compare live rates, buy labels from the Order List page in a few clicks, or turn on Order Automation to purchase labels for new orders automatically.
Yes. If your team prefers ShipStation, ShipWorks, Easyship, or Amazon Shipping, InfiPlex routes orders to that platform and reads the resulting shipments back, then distributes tracking to Shopify and every marketplace. You keep the shipping workflow you like; InfiPlex handles the data movement around it.
Yes. InfiPlex connects Shopify order flow to 3PL partners and WMS platforms such as ShipHero, Extensiv, Logiwa, Deposco, and Ryder, or to any provider through the InfiPlex 3PL Connector program. Orders route to the right facility based on your rules, and ship confirmations and stock counts flow back to Shopify and your marketplaces without anyone re-keying data.
InfiPlex keeps the order lifecycle in sync as it changes. Because syncs run on a continuous cadence, cancellations and changes made on the Shopify side are reflected in the OMS queue, and our team configures how holds, address edits, and cancellations should behave across your specific channel mix during onboarding — including who wins when Shopify and a marketplace disagree. Ask us about your exact workflow and we'll map it before go-live.
Section 4 of 8 · Multi-warehouse precision
Locations & Multi-Warehouse Precision
How InfiPlex maps to Shopify's Locations model, and handles the edge cases that come with more than one warehouse.
Yes. Shopify Locations are mapped one-to-one with InfiPlex warehouses, so the OMS can maintain correct quantities per location — including locations that represent a 3PL or a drop-ship vendor. Multi-warehouse routing then decides which facility ships each order, and every location's counts stay accurate in Shopify.
Two mechanisms work together: real-time decrement-and-broadcast syncing, and per-channel inventory buffers. Buffers hold back a safety quantity on fast-moving SKUs (for example, showing 95 when 100 are on hand) so a burst of near-simultaneous orders across channels can't push you below zero. Our support team helps tune buffer levels per marketplace during setup.
Yes — this is a common setup. A Shopify Location can map to a 3PL's facility or a drop-ship vendor rather than a warehouse you operate directly, and InfiPlex keeps that location's counts and routing accurate the same way it would for a physical warehouse you run yourself.
Routing rules configured during onboarding — based on factors like stock availability, shipping zone, or your own priority order between locations — determine which warehouse, 3PL, or drop-ship vendor fulfills a given order.
Your configured routing priority decides, whether that's lowest shipping cost, fastest delivery, or a fixed preference order between locations — our team sets this up based on how you want split-inventory situations handled.
Not necessarily — multiple Shopify stores can draw from the same InfiPlex warehouse pool, or each can have its own dedicated locations, depending on whether you want inventory shared or segmented per storefront.
InfiPlex includes a self-service fix: from your OMS you can re-create the Shopify inventory webhook for a push connection in a few clicks, which re-establishes the real-time feed without waiting on support. Our USA-based team is also available if you'd rather have us check the connection end to end.
Yes — when InfiPlex pushes a marketplace order into Shopify, it can assign that order to a specific fulfillment location rather than a single default, so multi-location fulfillment works correctly even when Shopify is the system of record.
Yes — InfiPlex offers a Shopify POS integration, so in-store and online inventory stay coordinated as their own location within the same real-time pool. If you run physical retail alongside your webstore, ask us about the right POS configuration for your locations.
Section 5 of 8 · Catalog sync
Products, Variants & Catalog Sync
How product data, variants, and bundles move between Shopify and the rest of your channels.
Yes — through the optional Product Information Management (PIM) system. PIM watches your Shopify catalog for new SKUs, then pushes those products to connected marketplaces automatically, which is how brands keep listings consistent as the catalog grows. PIM is available on the Growth Pro package, with one-time configuration to automate each data connection.
Yes. Shopify variants map to individual SKUs in InfiPlex, so each size/color combination carries its own accurate count across channels. During onboarding we also configure bundle and multi-quantity relationships in your SKU setup so component inventory is decremented correctly — tell us how your kits are structured and we'll model them with you.
Every order from any connected channel decrements the shared SKU count in real time, and InfiPlex immediately queues updated quantities out to Shopify and each marketplace. The result is one accurate number everywhere: sell a unit on Amazon and your Shopify availability drops within minutes, and vice versa. Manual updates are also available through the Inventory Tool, spreadsheet uploads, and scheduled FTP feeds for sellers with external systems.
Yes — bulk price and inventory changes made in InfiPlex push out to Shopify along with every other connected channel, rather than requiring per-listing edits inside the Shopify admin.
Standard product, variant, and inventory data syncs by default; custom metafield mapping can be scoped with our team during onboarding if your catalog relies on them for marketplace listings.
Yes — Shopify can be used to control marketplace eligibility at the product level, so a given SKU only pushes to the marketplaces you've designated for it. Our team configures this mapping during onboarding based on how your catalog is organized in Shopify.
Section 6 of 8 · Pricing from Shopify
Pricing Sync from Shopify
How InfiPlex can use Shopify's own pricing as the source of truth for your marketplaces.
Yes — InfiPlex can pull pricing directly from Shopify and use it as the source of truth for pricing across the marketplaces InfiPlex connects, so you manage pricing in one place rather than updating it separately on every channel.
Our team maps which Shopify price field feeds marketplace pricing during onboarding, based on how you use standard and compare-at pricing in your own catalog — this is configured to your setup rather than assumed.
Pricing pulls on the same real-time cadence as inventory, so a price change in Shopify reflects across connected marketplaces without a separate manual export.
Yes — pricing sync from Shopify can be scoped to specific channels, so you can keep manual or rule-based pricing on marketplaces where that fits better while pulling from Shopify elsewhere.
If a channel is configured to pull pricing from Shopify, the next sync cycle will reflect Shopify's price again; if you want a standing manual override, that channel should be excluded from Shopify-sourced pricing for that SKU.
Standard catalog pricing is what typically feeds marketplace pricing; Shopify B2B or wholesale-specific pricing generally stays specific to that channel rather than being pulled out to public marketplaces, since those prices aren't meant to be publicly visible. Talk to our team about your specific pricing structure if this is central to your setup.
Section 7 of 8 · Multi-channel expansion
Growing Beyond Your Shopify Store
Shopify is the hub — these questions cover adding marketplaces, wholesale, retail dropship, and international channels around it.
Connect them through the same InfiPlex OMS that's already synced to Shopify. Your existing SKUs, quantities, and fulfillment setup carry over, so launching Amazon or Walmart Marketplace becomes a channel-connection task instead of an operations project — InfiPlex is an approved app on the Amazon Selling Partner Appstore and an official Walmart Full-Service Solutions Provider, and our team helps you obtain the marketplace keys during onboarding.
Yes, two ways. The Faire integration connects your catalog to the leading wholesale marketplace so boutique orders flow through the same OMS as your D2C orders, and the InfiPlex B2B eCommerce Portal gives your own wholesale buyers a login to place orders directly against your live inventory. Both draw from the same stock pool as Shopify, so you never oversell a channel to feed another.
Yes — this is where InfiPlex's EDI strength matters. Retail programs at Target, Lowe's, Home Depot, Costco, and dozens of other retailers run on EDI, and InfiPlex manages those connections alongside your Shopify and marketplace channels. In many cases InfiPlex significantly reduces or eliminates third-party EDI fees, savings that often cover the cost of the package itself.
Yes. InfiPlex ships through 100+ carriers worldwide and connects regional marketplaces — Amazon Europe, Amazon Australia, Walmart Canada, Cdiscount, Fnac Darty, Mercado Libre, and more — so a Shopify brand can expand internationally while keeping one inventory pool and one order workflow. Cross-border tracking flows back to each channel just like domestic orders.
Per-channel apps each sync to Shopify on their own schedule and their own rules, which is exactly how counts drift and orders slip through. InfiPlex replaces the patchwork with one synchronization engine, one order queue, one set of buffers, and one support team accountable for the whole flow — plus connections Shopify apps rarely offer, like retail EDI, Amazon Vendor Central, NetSuite, and 3PL/WMS platforms. Consolidating channels into InfiPlex typically also lowers total monthly software cost; contact us for a free cost comparison.
Yes — brands that launch on marketplaces first commonly add Shopify as their direct-to-consumer channel once they're ready, connecting it to the same OMS and inventory pool already running their other channels.
Section 8 of 8 · Plans and platform fit
Pricing, ERP & Ecosystem
What the integration costs, which package fits, and how Shopify data reaches your accounting and ERP systems.
Shopify connectivity is included in every InfiPlex package — there's no separate per-app fee. Basic Starter is $49.99/month with orders billed at $0.50 each (up to 2,000 SKUs), Growth Starter is $499.99/month including 1,000 orders, and Growth Pro is $999.99/month including 10,000 orders plus ERP connections and the PIM. Growth packages carry a 3-month commitment and include building new API integrations you need at no additional cost.
Match the package to monthly order volume and system needs: Basic Starter suits new sellers proving out channels; Growth Starter fits brands doing roughly 1,000+ orders a month that want the Marketplace Repricer, API access, and Amazon programs like Multi-Channel Fulfillment; Growth Pro adds ERP connections such as NetSuite, the PIM for automated product pushes, and 10,000 included orders. Our team will run your numbers with you — schedule a call for a recommendation.
Yes. InfiPlex pushes orders into NetSuite — where you can even fulfill and let InfiPlex carry the shipment data back to each channel — and integrates with QuickBooks Online, Microsoft Dynamics 365, and other ERP/accounting systems. ERP connections are included with the Growth Pro package.
Growth packages carry a 3-month minimum commitment and Partner packages a 12-month term; Basic Starter is month-to-month. Schedule a demo and we'll scope the right plan against your catalog and volume.
Connect the rest of your stack
Pair Shopify with the systems you already run
InfiPlex connects Shopify with 130+ marketplaces, carts, shipping platforms, 3PLs, WMS, and ERP systems — and our Growth Packages include building new API integrations you need at no additional cost.
InfiPlex works with Shopify in whichever direction fits your operation. Marketplace orders can be pushed into Shopify — each assigned to a specific fulfillment location rather than one default — so you fulfill everything from the Shopify admin you already know, or Shopify orders can flow into InfiPlex alongside every other channel so one OMS drives your warehouses, 3PLs, and ERP. Many brands start with Shopify as the system of record and move to InfiPlex as the center of gravity as channel count grows. Shopify can also control which products are eligible for which marketplaces, and its pricing can feed marketplace pricing directly. Either way, every Shopify Location maps to a real warehouse or 3PL, and tracking and inventory sync back to every connected channel automatically.
The InfiPlex Shopify sync rail: Shopify orders and products flow into the OMS, which routes fulfillment to your warehouses, 3PLs, or ERP and returns tracking numbers and real-time inventory to Shopify and every other connected channel.
